    The incident brought added scrutiny to the Known Crewmember program, which allows TSA to focus on individuals they deem to be greater threats (as with PreCheck, crew go through background checks prior to being admitted).
    She was only carrying drugs — which is precisely what the TSA shouldn’t be focusing on. The whole point of the program is not to be distracted by people or issues that aren’t related to aviation security.

    Totally missing your point. They didn’t check her for drugs, they just did a routine random security check. Should the TSA have ignored $2 Million of cocaine because their real mission is “aviation security”?

    Not to mention that if someone is willing to carry on a package of contraband, there is always the possibility of their being giving something other than what they are told is in the package. Which is clearly an aviation security issue.
