Delta Airlines Comfort+ Seating Questions and Answers

    Delta Airlines Comfort+ Seating

Delta has announced a Comfort+ section on C+ equipped flights.

    From Delta's site

Enjoy an upgraded experience with more of the perks you love in Delta Comfort+. Take advantage of your time in the air with access to Sky Priority boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, extra legroom, superior snacks on longer flights, free drinks and complimentary premium entertainment.

NEW! Delta Comfort+ is now even easier to book. For flights departing on or after May 16, 2016, within the U.S. 50 and Canada, Delta Comfort+ is now a booking option, like Main Cabin or First Class. This means you can book Delta Comfort+ all the way to your destination rather than upgrading separately for each leg of your trip.

    NOTE:

    1. The bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764). These seats are narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests in some cases. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger passengers.

    2. The first row of regular economy seating after C+ IS NOT recommended. The last row of C+ has the C+ recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.

    Costs for Medallion members:

    International:
    Diamond/Platinum Medallion/Flying Blue Platinum - Free
    Gold Medallion/Flying Blue Gold/SkyTeam Elite Plus/AS MVPG - 50% off
    Silver Medallion/Flying Blue Silver/SkyTeam Elite - 25% off

    Transcon/Domestic:
    Diamond/Platinum/Gold Medallion/Flying Blue Platinum & Gold/SkyTeam Elite Plus - Free
    Silver Medallion/SkyTeam Elite - 50% off
Flying Blue Silver are noted as Silver Medallions in the DL system.

Selecting C+ Seats: You cannot select C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets.

Passengers traveling on Y/B/M fares can also book EC seats for free.

    Economy Comfort Companions

There has been a bit of discussion on whether or not companions on a different passenger name record can be seated with a DM/PM (international) or DM/PM/GM (domestic) in EC for free. The T&C specify that companions must be on the same passenger name record. However, in practice, Delta appears to be honoring an EC seat assignment for one companion.

Sounds like a good trade-off between what you pay and what you actually get. Delta is a good airline for sure.
