New 2016 AAdvantage Elite Status Challenge for Gold and Platinum

The new AAdvantage Gold and Elite status challenges are now available for 2016, AA stopped all Challenges effective last September as they were finishing the merge with USAir, they have now started offering challenges again.

I would personally wait to see if a fee free challenge is offered perhaps in Feb. or March, unless you have a lot of flights already booked with AA.

American Airlines has started the new Gold and Platinum elite status challenge for 2016.

Requirements of the new challenge:
Gold status: earn 7,000 EQM in 3 months; signup fee $200.00

Platinum status: earn 12,500 EQM in 3 months
*could be $240 to start 16 Jun or later in year.

Start dates now anytime, not particular date
